Last month, Microsoft made Sim Update 2 for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 avaialble to beta test publically. Since then a few updates have been released and today a fresh one was shared for those participating.
The latest build for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is now 1.4.16.0 and the update brings further stability and performance fixes, along with fixing some issues with live weather. Users are also reporting generally better performance overall with this new beta.
Career and Challenge modes will have separate progress and leaderboards from the live build. Furthermore, any progress made will not carry over to the mainline build once Sim Update 2 leaves the ‘flighting’ period. Therefore, if those things are important to you, then you should not opt in for the beta.
You can read how to join the beta if you wish, which can be found on the official forums. Here are also the latest release notes.
As a stark reminder, this is beta software, and you should be using it at your own risk with the expectation that things may go wrong/not function as expected.
