During the developer live Q&A session last week, Microsoft had hoped to release Sim Update 1 for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 on February 18th 2025. In the latest update via the official website, this date has been pushed to a new unknown date.
Speaking on the development blog, the team said, “After carefully reviewing Sim Update 1 Beta feedback to ensure the best possible experience for all simmers, we have decided to take a bit more time before its release.” Whilst this news may be disappointing to some, it was clearly said in the live dev update last week that the February 18th 2025 date was tentative and relied on the team being happy to go ahead with the wide release.
However, we should learn a bit more about the update on next week’s development blog. This will hopefully provide more insight into what we can expect and perhaps a new tentative release date for Sim Update 1 for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.
If you cannot wait and want to try it now, you can sign up to Sim Update 1’s beta right now. It won’t feature the Marketplace for MSFS 2024, but it will come with changes and fixes expected in the final build. Of course, you need to accept the fact that the update is a beta and subject to bugs and you are able to provide the feedback directly to Microsoft and Asobo.
You can learn how to enrol yourself in the Sim Update 1 beta here, along with some of the release notes on the patch.
