Microsoft is releasing Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 on the Sony PlayStation 5 today, and depending on where you are in the world, it has already been released.
Today’s launch follows the early access window, which opened on December 3 for those who pre-ordered the Deluxe, Premium Deluxe, and Aviator editions. That initial phase offered an early glimpse of the experience on Sony’s PlayStation 5 console, while today’s launch welcomes the wider PS5 community on board.

The PlayStation 5 version delivers the same core experience found on PC, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, but Microsoft has explained that the PlayStation 5 MSFS24 Marketplace ecosystem is launching as a standalone environment. MSFS Marketplace purchases from other platforms won’t transfer, and cross-play is not supported at this time. Microsoft has confirmed that the PlayStation 5 will have ongoing hardware compatibility, including PlayStation VR 2, which is planned for a future update in 2026.
You can purchase Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 for PlayStation 5 from the PlayStation Store for £69.99 for the Standard Edition, £99.99 for the Deluxe Edition, £129.99 for the Premium Deluxe Edition or £199.99 for the Aviator Edition.
