A new hotfix for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 has been released that addresses a single point in the changelog. Despite being a single bullet point, it is a pretty major issue that has been addressed with the new hotfix.
The new hotfix for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 solves an issue whereby avionics were not functioning on Xbox Series S and when using low or medium graphic settings on PC. You can apply to the hotfix right now by simply booting up the simulator. Changelog below.
1.2.11.0 Hotfix
- Fixed a scenario in which avionics were not functioning on Xbox Series S and Low/Medium graphics setting on PC
DLSS 4.0 Support for MSFS and MSFS 2024
Announced earlier this week at CES, Nvidia dropped the news that their new 50XX series of graphic cards would be coming out very soon. The RTX 5090 and the RTX 5080 will be out at the end of the month and will come with powerful new technology and will drive DLSS support into a new generation.
DLSS 4.0 brings with it DLSS Multi Frame Generation. This new tech generates three new frames per rendered frame, boosting the overall frame rates within DLSS 4.0 enhanced games. 2 of those games that will feature the technology from day 0 will be both Microsoft Flight Simulator and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. You can see how the new technology will enhance games below.
It is worth noting that DLSS 4.0 will only work on the new GeForce RTX 50XX cards.
MSFS 2024 Sim Update and Marketplace Info
Microsoft and Asobo are back from their holiday break feeling “refreshed [and] recharged” as they now focus efforts on delivering the first major update for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. They have spent time looking at feedback to prioritise work on bugs and general improvements, all of which will be shown via the usual Feedback Snapshop graphic – which will come in next week’s blog.
Finally, it has been confirmed that they are finalising preparations for the Marketplace launch in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. Hopefully, we will learn more about that, and the upcoming World Update: Brazil, in the upcoming Developer Livestream (date: TBC).
