Microsoft Announces Machine Specifications for Upcoming Flight Simulator

Just now, Microsoft released a single image showing the minimum, recommended, and ideal specifications for the upcoming Microsoft Flight Simulator. Both AMD and NVIDIA computers were mentioned in this list, giving a fairly good look at what sort of hardware will be needed to run the new sim.

All levels require Windows 10, running the November 2019 update, 1909, as well as 150 GB of storage on the system.

At the low end or minimum specs, a Ryzen 3 1200 or Intel i5-4460 is needed to run the sim, being paired with either a Radeon RX570 or NVIDIA GTX 770. Only 2GB of VRAM is needed to run, along with 8GB is RAM, and an internet bandwidth of 5 Mbps.

Recommended specs include a Ryzen 5 1500X or a Intel i5-8400 paired with a Radeon RX 590 or a NVIDIA GTX 970. 4GB of VRAM is recommended, as well as 16GB of RAM. A internet bandwidth of 20 Mbps is also recommended.

Lastly, the ideal specs were also shared. An Ryzen 7 Pro 2700X or an Intel i7-9800X paired with a Radeon VII or a NVIDIA RTX 2080 is ideal for the new sim. 8GB of VRAM as well as 32GB of RAM is also ideal. Internet bandwidth of 50 Mbps is also what Microsoft considers ideal for the new sim.

It’s worth to keep in mind that not every single component is listed, so different combinations may vary on performance. This is spec list if fairly details with the different specs you should expect to need to run the new sim.

Be sure to check back here for more updates on the sim, as well as the Microsoft feeds for more info.
