Announced just under a month ago, Microsoft has released Famous Flyer IV: Antonov AN-225 Mriya. The plane has been developed in cooperation with iniBuilds as well as the Antonov company. The Mriya was the world’s largest aircraft, but was sadly destroyed in the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Only one AN-225 was ever completed, and throughout its life, its had an impressive career record. From its first flight in 1988, making it the heaviest aircraft to ever fly, carrying Soviet space shuttles, all up until its demise, the AN-225 has always been an impressive sight.

iniBuilds and Microsoft have done their best to make the sim rendition just as impressive as the real plane. The plane comes with a payload manager, allowing you to easily customise the cargo you’re transporting. The release date of the plane is also no coincidence, as today marks one year since the real plane was destroyed.

Famous Flyer IV: Antonov AN-225 Mriya is available right now through the MSFS Marketplace. Xbox users will need to wait until Sim Update 12, which will bring WASM support to their platform. The plane is available for $20, and all proceeds will go directly to the Antonov Corporation to help rebuild this majestic plane.
