MicroProse has officially released its long-awaited B-17G Flying Fortress for Microsoft Flight Simulator. The iconic World War II bomber is now available in Early Access for $32.99, giving simmers an early opportunity to experience one of aviation’s most historic aircraft within the modern sim environment.
The B-17G Flying Fortress has been developed as part of MicroProse’s Heritage Valor Collection, a series focused on faithfully recreating classic wartime aircraft with the latest technology. Even in its Early Access phase, the aircraft features an impressively detailed cockpit, accurate flight modelling, and a fully realised exterior with authentic 4K PBR textures.
Simmers can expect a complete interior, with the cockpit, bombardier station, and gunner positions all accessible. The soundscape has been carefully engineered using a bespoke Wwise package, capturing the deep rumble of the four Wright Cyclone engines and the ambient atmosphere of flight operations in the 1940s.
MicroProse says that the Early Access launch marks the beginning of a broader roadmap of updates that will refine system depth, improve flight dynamics, and introduce additional liveries and features ahead of the full 1.0 release. Planned additions include a more detailed damage and maintenance system, new visual effects, and enhanced multiplayer functionality. You can see the roadmap below.

The B-17G Flying Fortress is available now in Early Access for $32.99 via the JustFlight website. Those who purchase during this phase will receive all future updates leading up to the final release version.
