Mango Studios has provided a fresh development update on its upcoming ATR-72 for X-Plane 12, outlining recent progress across both systems and visual development.
The team says recent work has focused on core systems, including the EHSI, weather radar (WXR), and EADI, with the aim of accurately reflecting the real aircraft while maintaining solid performance within the simulator. Alongside this, interior texturing has been progressing, although the developer notes that much of the current work remains a work in progress and is not representative of the final product.

On the visual side, Mango Studios has now begun work on the exterior model, with the wing section already completed. This marks the start of broader exterior development, with an emphasis on correct proportions, surface detail, and overall fidelity.
The developer also highlighted that the current phase is less focused on visual previews and more on building a solid systems foundation, with the goal of delivering a detailed and accurate aircraft.
Mango Studios continues to target a 2026 release window for the ATR-72, although no specific release date has been announced at this stage.
