Mango and Skybound Studios Release Inverness Airport for X-Plane 12

Visit Scotland and the gateway to the highlands in the overhauled V2 Inverness Airport for X-Plane 12, a collaboration effort by Skybound and Mango Studios.

Mango and Skybound Studios Release Inverness Airport for X-Plane 12

In May of this year, a collaboration was announced between Skybound Studios and Mango Studios to work on X-Plane 12 scenery projects. This collaboration has now resulted in the release of the majorly overhauled “V2” version of the Inverness Airport for X-Plane 12.

Inverness Airport (EGPE) is an airport situated a little north-east of the city of Inverness in Scotland. It can be considered an important hub for travelers into the city and the scenic Scottish highlands. A number of airlines frequent the airport such as Easyjet, Loganair, KLM, British Airways and more recently Aer Lingus Regional. At Inverness you can find a set of two runways, one narrow and short (700m) and a more typical 1900m runway that’s 45m wide. With a VOR beacon at the field it offers various VOR approaches, however for a bit more precision, ILS is available in either direction on the larger runway.

The developer calls it “a complete rework”, mentioning updated assets, improved ground textures and enhanced performance. The rendition should take advantage of native X-Plane 12 features such as real-time rain shaders and dynamic seasonal ground textures. We can expect fully custom, high-resolution 3D objects such as buildings and hangars and the scenery conforms to the updated main terminal layout. A full set of features is available below.

The Inverness Airport scenery for X-Plane 12 is available on multiple platforms such as the Mango Studios store, simMarket and the X-Plane.org Store. The price is around $15.99.
