With the community eagerly anticipating a number of future releases, Majestic Software have provided a brief update on their upcoming Dash 8 Q400 for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024.
The update tells us the team have been re-working the exterior model of the popular turboprop aircraft, as well as system functionality in the aircraft’s cockpit, with real aircraft specifications and collaboration with real world operators guiding their work on the exterior modelling of the aeroplane.

The team say their focus is ‘not only on the overall visual quality but providing an equal balance for systems implementation and overall performance within the simulator.’
In addition, the post announced that the Q400’s smaller and older variant, the Dash 8 300, is ‘still a part of the roadmap which will begin a few months after the Q400 release’ and the 300 will be a complete rebuild for only Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.

The Dash 8 Q400 is a high-speed regional turboprop aircraft which carries between 68–90 passengers, combining jet-like cruise speeds with lower fuel consumption and operating costs. Its efficiency, reliability, and ability enable it to operate from relatively short runways, operating in various places across the globe.
