You may recall us reporting on the fact that Leonardo Software House had announced an addition to their highly acclaimed FlytheMaddogX MD-82, the MD-83. Today, courtesy of a post to their Facebook Post, we now know that the MD-88 will be making an appearance as well, complete with all the difference between the airframes simulated!
In the aforementioned Facebook post, customers can expect the -219 powerplants to be included, as well as realistic modelling, extended endurance, realistic flight dynamics and the associated load manager for fuel and route planning. The team said that users shouldn’t expect any exclusive features in the add-on (e.g. advance icing modelling), as they wanted to ensure that everyone had the same base features regardless of whether they had the extension of not. It should also be mentioned that these aircraft are for Prepar3D V4 only. There will be no 32-bit version of these aircraft.
A huge thanks to our friend Mohamed F. who provided us with a range of screenshots from the current beta version of the MD-88. You can find them below.
The extension will be available at an additional cost as add-ons to the -82 base pack and it’s hoped that it will be released by mid-December.
We reviewed the original aircraft before any service pack was updated and we loved it then. It’s even better since then, so it’s definitely worth checking out.
