Best known for their liveries and scenery for Microsoft Flight Simulator, KiwiFlightSim has just added another tropical Polynesian destination to its product line. The developer’s recreation of Faleolo International Airport (NSFA) in Samoa offers simmers what the developer says is a “rich and authentic taste of Samoa”. Compatible with both MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024, the airport’s scenery features fully modelled interiors for the passenger and VIP terminals, a Samoa Airways hangar, animated fire trucks that conduct an early-morning runway FOD check, and more. The control tower is also custom-crafted to reflect its real-world counterpart and includes a fully-modeled interior, offering a realistic viewpoint overlooking the airport.
Located on the second-largest island in Samoa, Upolu, Faleolo International Airport plays a crucial role in connecting the islands with the rest of the world. The airport’s terminal accommodates international flights linking Samoa to destinations like New Zealand, Australia, Fiji, and American Samoa, and regularly sees aircraft as large as the Boeing 787-900 and 777-300ER operated by Air New Zealand on the Faleolo to Auckland route. The airport’s single runway, 08/26, measures 3,000 by 45 metres (9,843 ft × 148 ft).
