Just after the large update for the RJ Professional line, Just Flight has provided what, in their words, will likely be the final text-based development update before pre-release coverage starts.
Because the team is full steam ahead on the F70/F100 product line, Just Flight mentioned that it has been difficult to set aside time to share previews.
Work on the TCAS system has been completed. The system is now capable of displaying both TA (traffic advisory) and RA (resolution advisory) messages with the correct symbology for each. In the event of a potential collision, indications will also be displayed on the PFD along with an aural warning to climb or descend.
Traffic filtering, TCAS modes, and TEST functionality are all modelled and controllable via the transponder panel in the pedestal.
Just Flight also provided a preview image of the weather radar featuring colour-coded precipitation intensity.
For those familiar with other Just Flight releases like the F28 and RJ Professional, the flip chart returns to the F70/F100 professional line. Based on an option in the EFB, pilots can select whether the chart is set manually or automatically based on the aircraft’s weight.
An interactive “paper” is also present on the yoke’s chart holder, which will allow pilots to cycle through checklists and even import custom documents.
Switching from the pen to a stylus, Just Flight has also refreshed the tablet with a new model for the F70/F100, which pilots can choose to mount on the window or the wall.
Amongst the previews, the developer mentioned that each F70 and F100 livery will be fitted with accurate equipment configurations based on extensive research of the real aircraft. These options include taxi lights, logo lights, and cockpit units, which will be automatically set based on the chosen livery. Pilots will also be able to choose IRS alignment times, callouts, pilot model visibility, and even sun visor visibility.
Work has also been completed on the cabin model. According to Just Flight, cabin functionality has been taken up a notch from their previous airliners to include a functional cockpit-to-cabin call system via the handsets, functional ceiling call lights, and many more chimes and buzzes that can be heard when either is triggered.
In the previews, Just Flight also showcased a fully functional cabin lighting control panel that will allow pilots to set ceiling, side wall, galley, emergency, and standby lighting. The digital music player also returns with support for cabin announcements that can be triggered either manually or automatically.
To close out the update, Just Flight stated that the F70/F100 is the most complex airliner they’ve produced in terms of systems depth. Further video-based content will highlight various systems like the autothrottle, AFCAS (Automatic Flight Control and Augmentation System), and the FMS.
