Just Flight recently posted a development update regarding their highly anticipated Fokker F70/F100 Professional for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024, given how impressive the aircraft was already looking earlier in the year, many have understandably been wondering why it hasn’t yet reached release.
Just Flight acknowledged the community’s curiosity and addressed speculation surrounding the project’s progress. While news has been quiet in recent months, especially since updates have been released for its existing fleet, development on the Fokker F70 and F100 has continued steadily behind the scenes.
Just Flight mentioned, “We’ve always aimed to be open and transparent with our community; however, as we approach the latter stages of development, predicting release timelines can become difficult. That sometimes creates the impression that progress has slowed, but that’s far from the truth.”
Work on the Fokker F70 and F100 began as far back as 2022, initially with art assets designed for FSX and Prepar3D, before transitioning fully to MSFS in late 2023. Since then, the project has seen continuous and intensive development, and following the release of RJ Professional last year, the team shifted its full attention to bringing the Fokker jets to life in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024.
Just Flight noted that the project has represented a major leap forward for their development team, from the humble beginnings of the PA-28 series, through increasingly complex aircraft like the 146, F28, and RJ Professional, Just Flight’s designers and coders have continued to refine their craft. The Fokker F70 and F100, with their advanced and highly automated avionics systems, are said to rival those found in modern Airbus and Boeing jets, making them Just Flight’s most ambitious airliner project yet.
As of October 2025, both aircraft are now fully functional in MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024, with beta testing well underway. The integration of the full sound package has recently been completed, paving the way for the final stages of development, which will primarily focus on the automatic flight system and flight management system. According to Just Flight, these systems have demanded months of coding and fine-tuning, particularly to ensure the LNAV and VNAV modes work seamlessly with the autothrottle and FMS logic.
While Just Flight isn’t ready to confirm a release window just yet, progress remains strong, they mentioned, “Each new build brings key improvements, and we’re getting closer to that all-important point where we can start talking about release.” A series of preview videos is also in production, showcasing the wide range of features the aircraft will offer.
Finally, Just Flight said they have had a busy year bringing all ten of its existing MSFS 2020 aircraft to MSFS 2024, and that the 146 Professional v2.4 free upgrade will be released towards the end of this month. Development on the Airbus A300B4 continues to move forward, with the cockpit and cabin artwork now complete, and system coding entering its final phases, more news on that project is expected to follow soon.
