Just Flight has shared a new development update for their upcoming Fokker 70 and Fokker 100 Professional for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024, outlining recent progress as the team prepares to showcase the aircraft at FlightSim Weekend 2026 in Lelystad.
A major focus has been on a complete rewrite of the aircraft’s Vertical Navigation (VNAV) logic, with the team deciding late last year to rebuild the system from scratch after being dissatisfied with the original implementation. While the change delayed development, it allowed the development team to create a more advanced autopilot-coupled VNAV system that can continue to evolve over the aircraft’s lifespan.
Several new features have also been implemented on the Fokker’s EFB, including a Performance Calculator app capable of generating take-off and landing data based on inputs such as runway conditions, aircraft configuration, and weather, found on data from real-world manuals. Other improvements have also been made to existing EFB apps, including additional map providers and the ability to view SimBrief flight plans directly on the map.
Just Flight has also expanded the aircraft’s immersion features with a more advanced auto cabin crew simulation, complete with pilot callouts, cabin announcements, and a digital music player located in the forward galley. The system can automatically trigger announcements and boarding music depending on the phase of flight, with audio files fully customisable by users. These features form part of a complete sound environment that includes over 500 individual audio samples.
