Just Flight Shares Development Roadmap, Free 2024 Updates

Just Flight has shared a detailed development roadmap, outlining the developer’s plan for aircraft updates and support for the next year. The plans include significant, free updates to nearly the entire fleet, as well as free compatibility with the latest installment of Microsoft Flight Simulator (2024).

PA28R Arrow III, PA-28R Turbo Arrow III/IV & PA-28-161 Warrior II

The PA-28-161 Warrior II received a flight model update just recently, adding features such as CFD (which was not yet available at initial release of PA-28), and ground friction support. After collecting feedback on the update, Just Flight is now ready to roll out these changes to the other aircraft in the PA-28 fleet. The changes will be grouped into a larger update, containing other bug fixes and improvements, as well as MSFS 2024 compatibility.

Hawk T1/A Advanced Trainer

The Hawk T1/A Advanced Trainer is set to receive a significant ‘Version 2’ update, featuring a new flight model, MSFS 2024 compatibility and other new MSFS SDK features. The update will also include other bug fixes and enhancements, such as improved navigation light models, an improved HSI ‘wobble’ and improved drum animations. Marketplace fans will also finally be able to have visual weapons on their Hawk, due to a change in the MSFS Marketplace policy.

146 Professional

The 146 Professional received a big ‘Version 2’ upgrade earlier this year, adding a detailed passenger cabin, redesigned EFB interface and more interactive systems. Just Flight will continue to support their most popular aircraft into the next year. The developer already has a list of improvement ideas, with improved and rewritten system logic that carries over from the RJ Professional that Just Flight just released. These changes will make their way to the 146 Professional in 2025, as well as MSFS 2024 compatibility.

FS Traffic

Just Flight is close to finishing an update for FS Traffic for MSFS 2020. After that update, another one is planned with new aircraft types and a new selection of liveries. The developer has also looked into an Xbox variant of FS Traffic, but has held it back due to the significant negative impact on performance that this version had.

FS Traffic has “begun evaluation” for MSFS 2024, and significant improvements have been found over default simulator traffic. Just Flight aims to implement some of the new SDK features and continue developing compatibility. Xbox plans for MSFS 2024 will be re-evaluated.

F28 Professional

The F28 Professional is set to receive a similar ‘Version 2’ upgrade as the 146 Professional, including features such as a new custom-coded UNS-1 FMS, new cockpit equipment and more interactive systems. While Just Flight had planned to release the update at the end of this year, this timeline has slipped a little, and instead, the F28 Professional will see its ‘Version 2’ update, including MSFS 2024 compatibility, delivered next year.

Vulcan B Mk. 2, K.2 & MMR

Just Flight has started development on a future update for the Vulcan, including some improved effects, MSFS 2024 compatibility and visible weapons for Marketplace users.

PA-38 Tomahawk

Released earlier this year, Just Flight is planning a Tomahawk compatibility update for MSFS 2024. The developer is also evaluating support for MSFS 2024’s new walk-around feature, a feature that the developer added as a custom system in MSFS 2020 to the Tomahawk.

RJ Professional

Released just over a month ago, the RJ Professional is already compatible with MSFS 2024, and Just Flight is diligently working on a v1.3 update that will bring bug fixes and other improvements.

X-Plane 12 General Aviation Fleet

Announced earlier this year, Just Flight has already begun to deliver on its XP12 promise with the release of the Duchess Model 76, PA-28R Arrow III and PA-28R Turbo Arrow III/IV. Not stopping there, Just Flight is planning to bring their PA-28-161 Warrior II to XP12 as well. The developer is working together with Thranda Design, and the aircraft is set to feature detailed textures for the interior and exterior, a custom EFB and dynamic liveries, allowing you to change your aircraft paint on the fly. The Warrior II is about to enter beta testing, and the developer hopes to release it in early 2025.
