Just Flight has published a new development update for their A300-B4 airliner for MSFS.
The update, published on Just Flight’s website, contains a handful of new screenshots showcasing some of the finer details within the aircraft’s cockpit.
The main takeaway is that modelling work on the remaining sections of the aircraft’s complex cockpit is now complete, which has allowed the team to share some of the preview images shared beneath. The artist in charge of this work has appropriately opted to model a well-worn aircraft, with visible scratches, marks, and wear on the most frequently used buttons, knobs and dials.
This particular update is the first in what Just Flight say will be a series of cockpit previews coming soon, with this update focussing solely on the central pedestal. The Carousel IV INS and CDU have been faithfully recreated for this project. Each segment of the data display has been created using its own object, which Just Flight say will give an “authentic and crisp look from any distance”. Users yearning for more modern avionics will have the option to switch these systems out for a UNS-1 FMS.
Examining the throttle quadrant, Just Flight have depicted the flap and speed brake handles, the trim wheels and pointer scale, as well as the throttle levers themselves in a very high level of detail. An interesting difference between the A300-B4 aircraft and more modern Airbus jets which Just Flight touch on in their post is that the throttle levers are not gated with detents.
The A300-B4 will ship with 2 VHF control units and a transponder unit built into the communications suite. These all feature actual rotating drums which Just Flight say they have individually modelled. ADF NAV radios and a weather radar are also present here. These will also feature rotating mechanical displays. Light controls, SELCAL controller, and trimmer switches can be found further back on the pedestal too.
Just Flight’s next update will purportedly focus on the forward panel and autopilot. FSElite will bring that to you as soon as it is made available.
