Developer Just Flight has dropped some previews of the highly anticipated Traffic Global X-Plane (TGXP) AI traffic program for X-Plane 11.
Sought after by pilots who want to add a deeper level of realism to their offline flights, the traffic-injection program is poised to fill a need in the X-Plane 11 infrastructure. Adding realistic airline traffic to the flight environment, Traffic Global promises the addition of frame-friendly airliners flying real-world schedules in X-Plane.
Developer Jim Keir has been keeping readers up-to-date on the latest developments with TGXP in his Developer’s Diary, and recently he touched on the tremendous challenges of having over 15,000 aircraft flying over 70,000 flights per day and keeping it all moving.
His April diary entry goes into some interesting details about how developers are working to keep the program as light on frames as possible, while still providing the aircraft eye candy that pilots will expect. So far, work on this front has been promising, with developers experiencing a barely noticeable drop in frames performance.
Earlier entries also touch on both the schedule functions and the models used in the program, and the entire diary is an interesting read and will definitely amp up the anticipation factor.
While there is no release date, the product for X-Plane continues to be developed.
FSX and P3D users can purchase an Early Access version of Traffic Global (FSX, FSXSE, P3Dv3, P3Dv4) for $41.99 USD.
