After a period of silence, developer Just Flight has issued a new development update on their upcoming Fokker 70/100 Professional for Microsoft Flight Simulator. While the update contains no information on a possible release window, the developer shared a lot of previews of the exterior model and textures of the aircraft. Just Flight states that the exterior has received a “much-needed upgrade”, especially with MSFS 2024 coming up. The textures have been redrawn in 8K resolution, with higher fidelity and showing more detail than before. The textures now feature rivets and screw heads, with varied levels of paint and weathering. The fuselage textures now appear to have a ripple effect, a sign of a used aircraft that has gone through many pressure cycles. The texture artist has also updated the decals, and there are new options for bare metal cargo door latches and window frames.
The development update does not comment further on compatibility with the upcoming Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, although Just Flight did make a brief mention of it in their development update. Until Just Flight confirms their plans for MSFS 2024, this brief mention remains open to interpretation.
