Just Flight’s F28 Professional v2 upgrade will be released as a free upgrade for all existing owners on both PC and Xbox platforms beginning March 13th on the developer’s website, with third-party retailers to follow shortly after.
The v2 upgrade significantly expands the aircraft’s navigation and autopilot capabilities, with the headline addition being a custom-coded UNS-1 Flight Management System integrated into the F28’s centre console, complete with NAV/GPS selectors and GPS annunciators on the main instrument panel. Also introduced is the GNS430 GPS as an alternative RNAV navigation option, replacing the larger GNS530 that was fitted in the original release. This smaller unit is mounted on the first officer’s panel and represents a configuration seen in some of the last remaining active F28s. For MSFS 2024 users, Just Flight notes the GNS430 utilises the new Working Title GNS430 V2 framework with full integration with the simulator’s EFB.

The v2 upgrade includes two different altitude control options. The more advanced Altitude Preselect Controller expands the functionality of the F28’s SEP6 autopilot system with autopilot coupled vertical speed controls, altitude arming, altitude hold, and altitude alerting modes. There’s also a more basic Altitude Alerting System configuration which offers no autopilot coupling or automatic altitude acquisition. This system provides altitude alerts when approaching or deviating from the selected altitude, leaving altitude acquisition entirely in the pilot’s hands.

The aircraft’s customisation options have been expanded with the Electronic Flight Bag receiving an upgrade to Just Flight’s latest v3 standard. This includes an improved user interface, boarding and refuelling simulation, Navigraph enroute charts integration, and numerous customisation options.
Additional features include interactive paper checklists on rotating clipboards, sun visors for both pilots, alternative fuel gauge measurement units, and exterior equipment toggles for HF antennas, hush kits and logo lights.
