With Jetstream Designs Paris Orly looking so close to being finished in the previews we’ve seen so far, many have been wondering when we will be able to see Orly in our sims. Today, I’m happy to report that we finally have an answer! Announced over on the Jetstream Designs Facebook page, it was said that the team is shooting for a release between the 28th and 31st of this month!
Announced back in February of this year, Jetstream Designs’ upcoming Paris Orly has certainly been one of the most anticipated scenery releases of this year, and for good reason. With Aerosoft’s rendition now outdated and incompatible with the latest versions of P3D, the airport was in desperate need of a new rendition. Since the announcement, previews of the airport have been eagerly, and readily, provided by the team, and we must say it looks quite stunning; the fact that all the new extensions to the terminals will be modelled is just icing on the cake at this point.
Along with the release date announcement, it was said that, “the scenery is pretty much done. We still have a few things to add, some tuning to do, and then start beta testing.” No doubt with the recent advent of P3D v.4 and its new PBR support, many will be wondering if Paris Orly will be releasing with PBR textures for P3D v4.4, and Jetstream has provided an answer. PBR textures will most likely not be making it into the initial release, due to the increased time and a possibility of a delayed release, but they see no reason why it couldn’t be added in a future update.
That’s all for now, but we’ll be sure to keep you posted on anything else regarding Jetstream Designs Paris Orly. (A bunch of new, high-res screenshots of the scenery in action can be found below as well)
