Jayne Reynolds Steps Down as MSFS Community Manager

In a heartfelt and touching post made on the Microsoft Flight Simulator forums and social channels, Jayne Reynolds has announced she is resigning as the Senior Community Manager for MSFS.

Jayne started in the position shortly after the launch of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, and was regularly seen on the platform’s official Twitch channel and forums, hosting events and assisting with developer livestreams as well as Friday Fly-in events.

She would also often travel to some of the industry’s largest events, including FSExpo and FSWeekend. The FSElite team had the pleasure of regularly engaging with Jayne at these events, and can say without question that she was always one of the friendliest and most approachable people in the entire convention centre.

In her statement, Jayne says that although she came into the position not knowing a whole lot about flight simulation or aviation in general, she leaves it as a fellow simmer who has developed a newfound appreciation for flying.

After starting in her new role back in 2021, Jayne initially dived straight into research and familiarisation for the hobby and the community surrounding it. But it was only after she started receiving flight training from her in-sim CFI, Howard Forder, that Jayne says she started to understand “the true passion of what it meant to love aviation”

This eventually translated into Jayne pursuing some real-world flight training. Writing on her public Instagram account, she said:

“I can’t even put the right words together to describe the feeling of finally flying IRL and doing WELL because I learned it all in the sim. After that, everything really clicked.”

We don’t know what’s next for Jayne as she hasn’t commented on what future role she may be headed into, but she has said she’ll be sharing more details soon. Regardless, she says that we won’t be getting rid of her as “you’ve made a flight simmer and aviation fan out of me, and I fear this hobby is a lifelong journey.”

On behalf of the whole team at FSElite, we would like to thank Jayne for her 5 years of service to the Flight Simulation Community, for her kindness and generosity shown towards our team and to the whole community, and wish her all the very best in her next endeavour.

If you’d like to say thanks to Jayne yourself, we’re sure she’ll be taking a look at the comment section of this article! Otherwise, she can also be found on her YouTube and Twitch channels, where she creates videos and livestreams of her endeavours in baking.
