Developers of the Jabiru J160/170, IRIS Simulations, are creating a new military jet for Microsoft Flight Simulator. The FA-39 Vampire is an interesting product as it’s dubbed as a concept aircraft. The initial concept comes from Industrial Designer Rodrigo Avella and IRIS Simulations felt inspired enough to create it for the simulator. The concept aircraft is fitted with internal ordnance and directed energy weapons, along with a functional HUD.
Over on their Facebook page, IRIS Simulations has been sharing a range of in-development previews of the concept aircraft in action in the simulator. From what we can tell, the external modelling is progressing nicely and already has a detailed virtual cockpit with working displays. In fact, the developer has worked with DC Designs to include a functional HUD for the aircraft giving you the details you need when flying the jet at 60,000ft.
This will be a fun aircraft to watch as IRIS Simulations continue developing the concept aircraft for Microsoft Flight Simulator.
