In a surprising move, developer Invernyx has announced to the world that they have acquired Parallel 42’s The SkyPark for Microsoft Flight Simulator.
In a press release issued during FlightSimExpo 2024, Invernyx said that the newly acquired product will complement their existing product range and give them the chance to really build something special with The Skypark. This is not just an acquisition for the sake of it, this is an opportunity for The Skypark to grow even bigger and better in the future.
Colin Biedenkapp, CEO of Invernyx, said, “I’ve been using The Skypark for some time and have always enjoyed it. When the opportunity to be part of the future of it arose, I was beyond excited. We started talking ideas and we both knew right away that the future was bright. I can’t wait to take The Skypark to the next level and we’re honored to be involved.”
On the other side of the acquisition, Edson Soriano, Managing Director of Parallel 42, “The Skypark holds a very special place in our heart, it was our first product in MSFS and continues to serve an active community of simmers. There’s no better feeling than knowing your baby is in good hands, Invernyx are the right team to move The Skypark forward at the pace it deserves, and we’re excited to continue being a part of the vision team behind the scenes.“
The people behind TFDi Design have worked with Parallel 42 to ensure a positive, long-lasting future for The Skypark and Invernyx looks forward to adding their touch and letting its team expand the already amazing flight enhancement tool.
As of right now, nothing will change for the user. The product will work as intended, the name will stay, and those looking to purchase can still do so via both Parallel 42’s store and Orbx. Invernyx says that more details will come in the future.
If you are not aware of what The Skypark is, it’s a companion app to combines characters, contract jobs, tours, and adventures for pilots to use their custom aircraft and scenery collections to reignite their passion for flight.
