iniBuilds has released version 1.0.3 of its A340 Airliner for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, introducing a wide range of visual and systems enhancements that respond directly to community feedback. The update not only brings improved realism to the long-haul Airbus but also showcases new internal techniques and tools that iniBuilds says will soon benefit its upcoming A350 Airliner.

The primary focus of this update is a major refinement to the aircraft’s model and geometry. The art team revisited original reference materials and technical drawings after users highlighted inaccuracies in the wing shape and main landing gear alignment. These areas have now been completely re-evaluated and recalibrated, resulting in more accurate wing geometry, wheel tilt, and gear positioning. Around 30 individual bugs related to the wings and gear have been resolved, giving the aircraft a more authentic visual stance both on the ground and in flight. Because of these structural updates, iniBuilds notes that all decal-based liveries will need to be updated to remain compatible.

On the systems side, version 1.0.3 introduces meaningful improvements to the flight experience. The new update refines gear compression behaviour within the flight model, delivering a more realistic weight-on-wheels feel during taxi, rotation, and landing. A new constant Mach mode has also been added to the FMGS, allowing for more accurate cruise control at high altitudes. Meanwhile, the team has addressed several FMGS and DCDU discrepancies, leading to smoother VNAV calculations and better data consistency across cockpit displays.

Beyond the refinements to the wings and landing gear, version 1.0.3 delivers a wealth of smaller but meaningful bug fixes across every major system. Numerous ECAM and display issues have been resolved — from GPWS and terrain alerts now functioning correctly during power failures to revised FWC logic that better reflects Airbus procedures. The update also fine-tunes MCDU page formatting, fixes erroneous INOP system messages on the STATUS page, and improvements to various sound areas.

These updates are part of a broader effort to future-proof the A340 platform. iniBuilds says this release lays the groundwork for upcoming improvements such as expanded flight model tuning, deeper avionics integration, and WINWING hardware support—ensuring the aircraft continues to evolve in both fidelity and functionality.

The product update is already available on the in-sim Marketplace for both PC and Xbox platforms.
