iniBuilds has revealed more details about its upcoming multi-jetway technology for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, bringing support for multiple passenger boarding bridges at compatible airport gates.
Developed exclusively for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, the feature allows large aircraft such as the Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 to connect to two or even three jetways simultaneously, something not previously possible within Microsoft Flight Simulator.
Using iniBuilds Multi-Jetways
“The Multi-Jetway System has been designed to be as simple as possible. Once you’re parked at a compatible gate in a supported aircraft, the system takes care of the rest. Through the in-sim EFB app (Usually ‘TAB’ to open), you can quickly connect or disconnect the available passenger boarding bridges, with the system automatically determining the correct number of jetways and positioning them to match your aircraft’s door layout. No additional configuration or setup is required, allowing you to focus on your turnaround and departure.”
The technology will be integrated into selected iniBuilds airport sceneries, with its debut in the upcoming Chicago O’Hare release for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. Compatible gates will be specifically designed to accommodate multi-door boarding operations.
According to iniBuilds, the feature is being integrated directly into its airport scenery products, rather than acting as a universal solution across all airports. Developers will need to specifically design and configure compatible stands to take advantage of the system. This means that support will be limited to selected airports where multi-door boarding is commonplace.
The Multi-Jetway System is designed to work alongside Microsoft Flight Simulator add-ons, including GSX. Although it operates independently, it is compatible with community-created GSX profiles, enabling more realistic boarding procedures when using multiple passenger boarding bridges.
One current limitation is that the multi-jetway functionality must be activated manually through the in-sim EFB. GSX cannot be used to control or request the iniBuilds Multi-Jetway System.
