iniBuilds took its YouTube channel with a new video trailer showcasing its upcoming Malta International Airport scenery for Microsoft Flight 2024.
Malta International Airport (LMML/MLA), also known as Luqa Airport, serves as the sole commercial airport for the island nation and sits on the site of former RAF Luqa airfield. The airport can trace is roots back to World War II, with the British financing construction of a passenger terminal following the war. The current terminal was constructed during the 1990s and became fully operational in 1992. Today, Malta International Airport features two runways and a 72,000-square-meter terminal capable of handling large international aircraft such as the Boeing 777-300ER. The airport connects Malta to roughly 100 destinations across more than 30 airlines, with Ryanair/Malta Air, KM Malta Airlines, Medavia, and Universal Air claiming the airport as a hub. Malta International Airport also serves as a key maintenance base for Lufthansa Technik, Ryanair, and easyJet.
Announced several weeks ago, iniBuilds Malta International Airport is being developed specifically for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. The project aims to bring the airport to life in great detail, with a member of the iniBuilds’ team conducting an on-site visit to capture reference material. That reference material has proven valuable, with the team capturing the unique architecture of the airport, as well as the surrounding ports and costal towns.
As with many of iniBuilds’ recent airport releases, the Malta International Airport scenery will feature modeled terminal interiors, an official GSX profile, animated ground vehicles, and true-to-life night lighting. No confirmed release data or pricing has been announced for the project. However, with the trailer release finally here, flight simmers should not have to wait too long before exploring this iconic Mediterranean island.
