iniBuilds has released the v1.0.2 update for their F406 Caravan II for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 & 2024, which brings a wide range of improvements and fixes. The update concentrates on autopilot behaviour, electrical systems and start-up logic.
The autopilot logic has been updated to more accurately reflect real-world behaviour. The approach mode now requires the aircraft to be established on the localiser before capturing the glide slope. The initial autopilot engagement has also been refined to sync the current vertical speed correctly. Additionally, the back course mode has seen improvements with a more reliable controller to ensure accurate tracking.
The sounds have also seen improvements, with Echo19 taking onboard community feedback. The engine start-up sequence and beta range sound profile have been improved, and the engine start logic itself has been reworked to more accurately reflect the real-world PT6, including the simulation of hot start scenarios and the ignition sequence.
Other changes include fixes to art and systems, such as corrections to the autopilot panel, VOR annunciator light, DME hold function and torque readings between the engines. The Electronic Flight Bag has also been updated with a new night-mode checklist option.
