iniBuilds has released its latest airport scenery for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, this time taking simmers to Malta International Airport (LMML).
First announced at the end of July, Malta International is the island nation’s only commercial airport and serves a wide variety of European, North African and Middle Eastern destinations. The airport is particularly busy with low-cost and leisure traffic, alongside flag carriers, cargo and business aviation.
For its recreation, iniBuilds says it has built the airport from the ground up for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. The scenery features a 2026 airport layout, with a Full HD ground polygon covering the runways, taxiways and aprons. Bespoke taxiway signage, dynamic airport lighting and hundreds of custom models have also been included.
Both the airside and landside portions of the airport have received attention, with detailed terminal and concourse modelling joined by custom vegetation, road infrastructure, decals, service vehicles and other airport clutter. The developer previously confirmed that reference material gathered during a visit to Malta was used to help recreate the airport’s materials, proportions and overall appearance.
As with iniBuilds’ other recent MSFS 2024 scenery releases, optimisation has also been a focus. Level of Detail optimisation has been applied across the scenery, alongside use of the latest MSFS 2024 SDK features. An official GSX profile is included, whilst iniManager support allows users to configure the scenery.
