iniBuilds releases Innsbruck Airport – one of the most challenging airports in Europe.

iniBuilds Releases Innsbruck Airport for MSFS

We somewhat already knew that iniBuilds was working on a rendition of Innsbruck Airport (LOWI) for Microsoft Flight Simulator when they teased an airport a few weeks ago. However, we not only now know this for certain, but we are able to download and buy it.

Innsbruck Airport (LOWI) is located in the heart of the Austrian Alps and serves as an important gateway to the Tyrol region. Hugely popular in the Winter season due to the local ski resorts, Innsbruck Airport sees traffic from across Europe. For pilots, it does present a huge challenge due to it’s complex approach, mountainous terrain, and unpredictable weather. For simmers, it’s a great place for some fun experiences.

The airport comes with a number of features that aims to make this the most detailed version of Innsbruck available for any flight simulator. There is a bespoke number of texture sets throughout the airport, including plenty of scenery objects landside and airside for a realistic approach. There are custom ground decals, signposts, vegetation, barriers and more. You will find the airport is completely up-to-date in terms of layout and ground markings, whilst a number of static aircraft will also populate the airport giving it a bit of life.

Outside of the main airport area are plenty of custom points of interest (POIs) that include Bergisel Ski Jump, Christophorus heliport, Innsbruck University Hospital and helipad, Tivoli Stadion & Arena and many more. All of this should make for your approach to be very visual. iniBuilds says that they have optimised the airport to encourage the best performance possible, but should you need any additional support, the iniManager can help configure the scenery to your liking.

iniBuilds’ Innsbruck Airport can be purchased from their store for £14.99 (excluding taxes). The airport is currently out for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, but a free update for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 will be released for the airport.

This is in line with iniBuilds’ upgrade policy: “As with all scenery products being released up until the launch of Microsoft Flight Simulator 20024, we’ll be providing a free upgrade to the 2024 version of the product.”
