iniBuilds has released a new update for the A350 Airliner for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and 2020. Version 1.1.8 focuses heavily on improving the overall audio design, while also addressing a number of system quirks, visual issues, and avionics behaviour reported by users since launch. This comes after the significant improvements found in 1.1.7 that enhanced the performance of the aircraft.
For the Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 version of the plane specifically, there is a completely revamped sound environment. iniBuilds says this represents the most significant audio overhaul to date, with rebalanced engine tones, refined wind and ground-service effects, better internal spatial mixing, and more accurate transitions during spool-up and idle. Reverse-thrust handling and cockpit sound layering have also seen notable refinement. There are plenty of short videos highlighting these improvements.
Alongside sound updates, a series of system and avionics improvements have been made. The Flight Path Vector on the HUD should now behave more reliably in crosswinds, terrain radar and MORA data now display correctly at lower altitudes, and various inconsistencies with the DIR-TO behaviour and flight plan editing logic have been resolved. Engine behaviour has also seen more realistic logic added, with oil-quantity degradation, which can now lead to engine seizure under the right conditions.
Visually, the update includes several small but welcome fixes. Cabin lighting now behaves properly in Cold & Dark states, cockpit annunciators have been corrected, and issues with wipers, LOD transitions and texture consistency. Note that these the above changes are present in the MSFS 2020 and 2024 versions of the plane. A patch for sound updates will follow for MSFS 2020 users.
The update is available now via the iniManager.
