iniBuilds has released a new 56-minute video that covers the A340 Airline in a huge amount of detail. The new ‘welcome’ video from the team gives us a look at the plane in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. We see the capabilities of the aircraft, some of the features we will have with the four-engine jet, plus a look at an in-flight engine failure. Finally, we also get some concrete release details for the A340 Airline.
Video Highlights
In the video, we first get a summary of the history of the plane, why it’s interesting to fly in the simulator from one of iniBuilds’ lead developers, Cameron.
Visually, the model is packed with small touches: operable service panels and cowlings, authentic engine bay detailing, dynamic tyre bulge and brake wear, subtle oil-canning, and livery dirt that can be adjusted per airframe. The passenger cabin benefits from MSFS 2024’s LOD system, while a passenger-to-freighter conversion is fully represented with a walkable cargo hold, revised lighting, and ventilation—plus cargo “types” you can actually load via the EFB. There is also full GSX integration.
iniBuilds has built both EIS1 (CRT) and EIS2 (LCD) suites as separate experiences rather than simple reskins. EIS1 includes curved CRT rendering, correct fonts and spacing, “Please wait” DMC delays, and a bespoke terrain radar scan effect. EIS2 presents sharp 768×768 LCD replicas with characteristic backlight bleed and modern standby instruments. You’ll also find period details such as the older PVI takeoff aid and optional legacy standby gauges.
During the video, Cameron took us on multiple flights, highlighting the system depth, visual qualities and general quirks of operating the plane. We also saw an engine failure and how the plane handles that. You can watch the full thing above.
Release Information
iniBuilds has confirmed that the A340 Airliner will be exclusive to Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. This is not new information, a reconfirmation of what was previously mentioned. What is new information is that the plane will initially be released only on the in-sim Marketplace. According to a member on their team in Discord, it will come to the iniBuilds store after a “few months.”

We’ll be sure to keep our eyes peeled for the release, which seems to be pretty soon.
