Over the past few weeks, iniBuilds had been teasing an A340-300 aircraft for flight simulation and today the team formally announced the project. The A340-300 is in development for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and will be their first long-haul four-engined aircraft.
The team said that they are taking all the learnings from all their airliner development to create a “deep system simulation” for the plane, along with an immersive sound environment (created by Echo19) and detailed modelling and artwork. iniBuilds also confirmed that there will be an EFB integration, failure systems, and real-world liveries and custom cabins. Development has been underway for some time, and iniBuilds has made significant progress already. This includes the visuals, flight dynamics and systems. You can see some of the visuals of the plane already in the new screenshots.
The A340 Airliner variant being developed is the A340-313, using the CFM56-5C4 engine variant. When you purchase the package, it will include the A340 passenger version, the Preighter (converted passenger version to freighter) and the A340 Airliner ACJ. The plane will only be released on Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, and the intention is to release it for both PC and Xbox simultaneously.
Expect more previews in the future, including cockpit shots (as they’re in development). iniBuilds also teased that CRT cockpits will also be coming.
A380 Airliner
A brief update on the A380 came from the iniBuilds team. We were teased by them on social media last month, but the team has confirmed that those teasers came from a recent trip to a full-motion A380 flight simulator. This allowed the team to gather data and performance data. It also gave them access to other real-world procedural elements. Furthermore, the team also visited an aircraft in storage.
All this data will help the team with this ambitious long-term effort. Development evolves at a steady pace and will be sure to provide more updates in the future. They are hoping to produce a product that is visually accurate, but also with plenty of depth and realism.
