iniBuilds has announced some important information regarding a free update to its A340 Airliner series, plus the confirmation of the team working on the TriStar Airliner for MSFS 2024.
To start, the A340-300 will receive a free update, which will include a VIP variant to the suite of included types in the package. The current time frame from iniBuilds is that the VIP variant will arrive in January 2026 – just a few weeks away. Some previews were shared from the team, highlighting the cabin.

iniBuilds TriStar Airliner Project
In the same forum post surrounding its airliner plans, iniBuilds confirmed development is well underway for a TriStar Airliner project for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. The main variant will be based off of the L1011-500 variant, and will include plenty of in-depth features to bring the classic airliner to life.
iniBuilds outlined the core systems depth behind its upcoming TriStar project by highlighting a feature set designed to balance authenticity with modern workflows. The aircraft will feature detailed electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and environmental simulations, alongside a fully modelled AFCS with CAT IIIB autoland capability and flight dynamics driven by MSFS 2024 aerodynamics and real-world performance data. Visually, the TriStar is set to deliver high-fidelity interior and exterior modelling, including the cockpit, cabin, and its distinctive S-duct tail engine.

Navigation is centred around a fully simulated triple Litton INS with era-accurate procedures, supported by import tools and SimBrief integration, while a faithfully recreated Performance Management System ties directly into both the INS and autoflight systems. There will also be a period-authentic Paper Flight Bag, a functional flight engineer’s panel with manual and automatic modes, and multiple navigation configurations ranging from classic analogue radio navigation to full INS automation and an optional modern GNS 530 upgrade.
Echo 19 returns to support iniBuilds, as they are confirmed to be doing the sound package for the TriStar. The team has access to the TriStar experience in Kansas City and was able to record audio in real-time. This should hopefully mean some authentic sounds for the aircraft.
iniBuilds says the TriStar is being built to the same visual standards as its latest airliner releases, with a strong focus on immersion without sacrificing performance. Developed exclusively for MSFS 2024, the aircraft takes full advantage of the sim’s newer rendering techniques, featuring high-resolution materials, accurate surface wear, fully realised cabin spaces, and extensive exterior detail based on real-world reference visits. The exterior includes a wide range of interactive elements such as animated service hatches, cargo doors, entry doors, and engine cowling doors, alongside era-appropriate ground equipment.
iniBuilds also said that they are going even deeper with the simulation of dynamic weathering and dirt, with persistent, dynamic dirt and ageing effects that intensify over time to reflect decades of service. Performance is also high priority for iniBuilds, with optimisation techniques refined on the A350 and A340, ensuring stable performance across PC and console.

The post concluded with the information that we will get even more deeper development blogs as progress is made. As usual, we will keep a close eye on development and be sure to keep you posted. Check out the full information on the iniBuilds forum.
Apologies for the delay in posting the news. Holidays and a huge amount of news/originals has slowed us down a bit.
