As part of iniBuilds’ Winter Wonderland series, the team announced their future scenery plans. This also includes the announcement of a brand new version of London Heathrow Airport (EGLL), which is scheduled to come out next year.
To start, iniBuilds has been busy testing airports that they currently have released for MSFS 2020 and seeing how compatible they are with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. The list is fairly extensive of what they are now saying is compatible with the new sim, which means you can just drag-and-drop them into the new sim without any issues. This includes airports such as Luton, Kerry, Dubrovnik, Nairobi, Stansted, Milwaukee, and a bunch of others (see the full list below).
iniBuilds said that there will be ongoing work to evaluate scenery products that require updates and enhancements for those not listed above.
In terms of immediate scenery plans, iniBuilds will be kicking off 2025 with an enhanced version of its Dubai International Airport (OMDB). This enhanced build will include new interiors, more POIs and a general overhaul of the scenery itself. As a reminder of what ‘enhanced’ entails, it means you will be able to upgrade for a nominal fee which will bring with it new features and optimisations for the new simulator.
Following the release of Dubai, the team said Los Angeles (KLAX) and John F Kennedy (KJFK) will follow – but note that now the exact order has been confirmed, but larger hubs will be worked on as a priority.
Heathrow Airport Premium
Confirmed in the scenery development post is a brand-new recreation of London Heathrow Airport (EGLL). This new premium version is a completely redone rendition of the airport with all new technologies being applied for a more realistic rendition of London’s huge hub. iniBuilds said, “being one of the most iconic airports in the world and one of the first hubs we first tackled in 2021/2022, we had to return to this beast, and give it justice by remaking it. “
It has been confirmed that this will be a new purchase for all customers, but those who own the current version will receive a discount towards their purchase. Finally, it has been confirmed we should see this hub released within the “first few months of 2025”.
Finally, the team hinted that they will be visiting even more regions of the world to create airports and international hubs for flight simulation fans, with more details revealed in due course.
