Developer iniBuilds have announced they are working on London Gatwick (ICAO: EGKK) for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and are looking for people who work at the airport in real life to assist in its development.
In a post on their official Discord channel, the team wrote ‘as one of the UK’s busiest airports, and Europe’s busiest single runway airport, we’re excited to announce that we are bringing London Gatwick (EGKK) to MSFS 2024. Coming soon.’
In an appeal to those who work at the airport in real life, the team are asking people who are able to contribute with the development of the scenery to contact them. They write, ‘as we develop this scenery, we’d love to connect with individuals who work at Gatwick Airport to help ensure the highest level of accuracy. If you work at EGKK and are interested in contributing, please reach out to us at management@inibuilds.com.’
The international airport to the south of London is home to a number of airlines, including easyJet, TUI and British Airways Euroflyer. Despite having two runways, only the longer runway 08R/26L is designated a fully operational runway, with the other predominantly being used as a taxiway.
The post on Discord included a couple of teaser shots of their upcoming Gatwick scenery, including the high detail we have come to expect from their airport sceneries. Just recently the team released the 2024 specific iteration of their London Heathrow scenery, reflecting a shift to the new simulator platform that was recently released.
