Announced on the forums, iniBuilds has confirmed that they are developing Hong Kong International Airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.
The airport, located on the island of Chek Lap Kok, is one of the most recognisable hubs in global aviation and serves as a major gateway between East and West. Hong Kong International Airport (VHHH) serves as a major global hub primarily for Cathay Pacific, Hong Kong Airlines and HK Express. Long-haul connectivity spans North America, Europe, Australia, and the Middle East and also a dense regional coverage across East and Southeast Asia, linking cities such as Tokyo, Seoul, Singapore, Bangkok, and many more.
According to iniBuilds, the project ranks among its most ambitious to date, drawing comparisons to their previous work at Dallas Fort Worth in terms of scale and complexity. The unique island setting and dense surrounding cityscape have allowed the team to further refine its development pipeline while applying lessons learned from past large hub releases.

The airport will feature a comprehensive recreation of the terminal structures, taxiway network and service roads, aiming to reflect the operational character of the real-world airport. iniBuilds has confirmed that a terminal currently under construction in reality will be added as part of a free post-release update once completed. An official GSX profile will be included within the scenery folder and made available through iniManager, which also provides configuration options for users. Performance has also been carefully considered by the team, ensuring it remains as stable and smooth as possible.
To complement the airport itself, the scenery package will also include a free detailed Hong Kong City point of interest pack. Given that approaches and departures into Hong Kong are often defined by views of the skyline and Victoria Harbour, the addition aims to enhance immersion beyond the airfield perimeter.

The included landmarks span commercial, cultural and waterfront locations, with handcrafted modelling, accurate placement and custom night lighting. Among the highlighted points of interest are:
- Sky Shuttle Terminal
- AIA Building
- China Construction Bank Building
- Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre
- Central Plaza
- Two International Finance Centre
- Tsim Sha Tsui Star Ferry Terminal
- Hong Kong Cultural Centre
- Hong Kong Space Museum
- Central Star Ferry Pier
A release date or price has yet to be disclosed, but iniBuilds are typically good at revealing and releasing not too far from each other. We’ll keep you posted, but for now enjoy the previews and the feature list below.
