iniBuilds has announced Haugesund Airport, Karmøy (ENHD) for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, bringing the Norwegian regional airport known for its challenging coastal weather to the simulator.
Haugesund Airport is located on the island of Karmøy along Norway’s western shore. The airport serves as a regional hub for western Norway, supporting domestic travel, offshore operations related to North Sea energy infrastructure, and international connections. The airport is known for challenging weather conditions including shifting winds, low cloud cover, and coastal approaches.
Current operators include SAS with regular Oslo connections, Norwegian operating domestic and select international services, and various charter and offshore traffic supporting North Sea operations. The airport handles a mix of regional passenger services and specialised offshore helicopter operations.
Scenery Features
The scenery package includes custom ground textures covering the entire airport area, detailed building interiors, and a recreation of the landside area with custom models. Night operations are supported with custom runway and taxiway lighting, along with custom taxiway signage.
iniBuilds states they have included Norwegian-specific airside clutter to reflect real-world operations, custom models of surrounding buildings, and static aircraft. All models feature Level of Detail optimisation for performance, with textures and a 10cm resolution custom ground layout.
No specific release date has been announced, with iniBuilds stating the scenery is “coming soon.” The scenery will be priced at £9.99 (excluding VAT) when it becomes available.
