Update 8th Feb 2025 @ 21:45z: iniBuilds has released the abridged cut of the live stream.
Earlier today, iniBuilds spent nearly 3 hours showcasing their upcoming Airbus A350 for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.
Host Matt was joined by Ubaid (CEO), Cameron (Lead Technical Developer) and Pablo (Type Rated A350/A330 pilot). During the stream, we were introduced to some of the systems, the overall model and texture work, and various other quality-of-life components that make up part of the A350 product from iniBuilds.
On the ground in Toulouse, Cameron takes us on a tour of the A350, highlighting the texture and modelling work. The team has gone to great lengths to ensure that performance is as optimised as possible, whilst ensuring there is quality throughout. Using the latest technology and refining their skills over years of development, they have managed to create a cockpit that looks as close to the real thing as possible – complete with dirt, dust and grime. You can explore the avionics bay, open various aircraft external hatches, and much more (MSFS 2024 anyway).
We also saw Cameron and Pablo demonstrate powering up the aircraft, using the EFB to do take-off calculations, programming the FMS and also taking us through the many of the intricate systems found on the plane. This includes the hydraulics, pressurisation, and the electrical systems. The plane will have a functional WX radar and terrain radar from day one, along with advanced simulation of the OANS. On the EFB, you can use Navigraph Charts or use the default in-sim LIDO charts if using FS2024.
Another new feature coming to this aircraft (and future iniBuilds airliners) is the new ‘situations’ mode. Whilst failures are geared towards mechanical or systems failures, the situations module will allow you to simulate other instances that could happen during flight. This includes examples like cabin decompression, in-flight medical scenarios, or even bird strikes. During the stream, we saw a rapid decompression happen and the plane reacted accordingly, including the automatic emergency descent found in the A350. iniBuilds says that this will be expanded over time and the examples on display are just a flavour of what is to come.
Other functionality and features shown off included Brake to Vacate (BTV), an impressive sound mix from within the flight deck and also various cabin PAs. It will also feature a functional wear and tear simulation and weathering on the external model depending on your usage of the plane (plus fully customizable to your liking via the EFB).
During the stream, Ubaid confirmed some key details we are all keen to know. Firstly, we learned officially that the A350 will be released by the end of February 2025 – so within the next 22 days. Additionally, whilst pricing wasn’t confirmed, he did tease it would be less than 80 Euros (excluding any taxes) and that it wouldn’t be a high-cost product. Of course, both are subject to change if anything last minute comes up, but this is the current plan.
Sadly, there is no VOD, but iniBuilds are splicing together a trimmed-down cut of the video and will be released soon. Once there is a video highlighting the stream, we will include it in this post.
As a reminder, both the -900 and the -1000 variants will be released on day one for both FS2020 and FS2024 (PC) as a single purchase. Note that some features found in the MSFS 2024 release may not be present in the MSFS 2020 version due to technical limitations. An in-sim Marketplace version will follow in the future with details to come.
Whilst this was an in-depth look for now, we’re keenly awaiting Showcase #2 where we will see more of the cabin, the night lighting, and wing views, and go into even more system depth.
Additional thanks to limdog123_ from the iniBuilds Discord for the additional support.
