iniBuilds has released version 1.0.7 of their A340 Airliner for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, with the update headlined by the addition of a VIP variant at no extra cost to existing owners. The update also includes various systems fixes, visual improvements, and audio refinements.
VIP Variant
The main feature of this update is the VIP variant, which reconfigures the A340’s interior as a private widebody. The cabin has been re-modelled with a master bedroom suite that includes a private ensuite bathroom and captain’s lounge, along with a crew rest area featuring a double bed and two business-class rest seats behind the cockpit.
The VIP configuration includes 10 private suites in a first-class section, a 12-seat business cabin with open-space cocoon seats, and a business conference suite. A living lounge area with a dedicated guest bathroom and a 16-seat rear lounge have also been added. Two galleys and four washrooms are distributed throughout the cabin.
Interactive features include ambient multi-colour cabin lighting with nine colour themes, controllable through a dedicated Flight Attendant Panel. The cabin features animated tray tables, reclining seats, partition doors, and modelled bathroom fixtures. A VIP-specific SimBrief profile has also been included for flight planning.
Systems and Visual Updates
The update addresses several systems issues, including navigation display problems with ETP drawing and PFD track diamond positioning. MCDU functionality has received attention, with corrections to ATSU/ATC page formatting, along-track waypoint handling, flight plan management and fixes for several crash scenarios related to MCDU operations.
Electrical system behaviour with battery-only configurations has also been adjusted, and the AOC weather request system now handles BeyondATC CPDLC data properly. ECAM-related corrections include Engine 1 N2 vibration display and brake fan operation logic.
On the visual side, passenger window tinting has been reduced and horizontal stabiliser geometry corrected. Snow and icing effects have been refined, with adjustments to transparency and texture shading. Strobe light effects now feature a double-flash sequence, and several cabin interior issues have been addressed.
Audio and Electronic Flight Bag
Audio updates include the restoration of a missing altitude callout, GPWS adjustments, and interactive sounds for the VIP cabin. The Electronic Flight Bag has also received persistence fixes to ensure settings are retained between sessions, with full Flight Attendant Panel simulation now implemented.
The A340 is available from the iniBuilds Store for £53.99 (Including VAT) and the in-game Marketplace. The v1.0.7 update is available as a free download for existing owners.
Existing owners who purchased the A340 on the MSFS Marketplace can transfer their license to the iniManager if they wish.
