Developer IndiaFoxtEcho has released a statement that glosses over all their current projects, providing insight on their progress and planning. Long story short: All projects are behind schedule, but for good reasons only.
IndiaFoxtEcho first talks to us about their aircraft projects, starting with their Eurofighter Typhoon. The fighter jet has a near complete external model with first pass textures, missing only the landing gear, slat actuators and wing pylons. The interior model is ready, but instrument coding is currently on hold, awaiting the MSFS 2024 dev alpha built.
Their F-16A Falcon, which is being co-produced with developer Heatblur, is moving forward at a good pace. IndiaFoxtEcho claims that the aircraft will likely feature the most detailed model ever created for a recreational sim. The exterior model is ready, and the team is currently working on the first pass textures and interior model.
They have completely restarted their work on their TA-4J Skyhawk model, as the model they were working on previously did not meet their quality standard. Progress is slowly being made, and the first assets have been completed.
Moving over to scenery and ships, their rendition of the Queen Elizabeth Supercarrier class has been ready for a week or two already, but also awaits testing on the MSFS 2024 dev alpha built. IndiaFoxtEcho also has second thoughts about profitability, due to the MSFS “no-weapon” policy, which would apparently lead to several versions of the aircraft carrier.
The Italian Cavour aircraft carrier the team has been working on, also didn’t meet quality standards, and thus they have been adding more detail to the ship’s deck. A AV-8B Harrier II model, originating from Sim Skunk Works, is now also included with the carrier. The add-on will also contain the Vespucci tallship and a FREMM frigate model.
The company is also working on a few new projects, which they labelled in their original post as “Distant Future Projects”. The first of which is an Aermacchi MB.326, a military jet trainer from the early 1960s. It is the precursor to the MB.339, a jet which was also released by IndiaFoxtEcho, and the first military jet to come to MSFS almost exactly two years ago. The MB.326 project is currently on hold and will be picked up by the Eurofighter team after releasing the Typhoon.
The company is also working on a Grumman E-2 Hawkeye, a carrier-capable early warning aircraft. The project will be revaluated in 2025. There is also a Macchi MC.72 in the works, which is a float plane that set world speed records for piston engine-powered seaplanes back in 1933 and 1934, the latter of which still stands. And they are working on an Ansaldo SVA, a first world war Italian reconnaissance aircraft. Finally, the company also mentions development of a Space Shuttle, which is currently just a toy project, but MSFS 2024 is expected to open new windows for this spacecraft.
