Newcomer developer Impulse Simulations has confirmed that Adelaide Airport (YPAD) will release for Microsoft Flight Simulator on Friday, July 16th 2021. Located in South Australia, Adelaide Airport is the fifth busiest in the country. Serving primarily domestic routes, there are also a number of international routes to locations such as Hong Kong, China, and Doha. The airport can handle a number of aircraft at any time with the largest type typically visiting the airport being the 777.
Despite being a newcomer to the field, the team is using a range of technology to help craft a realistic-looking airport. Impulse Simulations has confirmed that the airport will feature over 15,000 hand-placed objects throughout, which includes local eateries, shops, office blocks and hotels. Each object placed is fully PBR compliant and the custom vegetation and grass will bring life to the airport. The airport itself features custom animations, including animated jetways, interior modelling for the terminal and finally custom taxiway decals. All of this is the placed on top of 15cm custom orthoimagery that is high in resolution.
When July 16th does roll around, the team said that people will be able to buy Adelaide Airport for $29.95AUD from both their own store and also OrbxDirect.
We’ll be sure to let you know when the airport has released for Microsoft Flight Simulator.
