Disappointing news from Imaginesim’s Facebook page this morning. Imaginesim has decided to postpone their work on Los Angeles International Airport for Prepar3D V4.
Shortly after starting the development of LAX, Imaginesim was blown away with the news of Microsoft’s newest flight simulator. The promo video for the new sim showcased amazing graphics and detailed cities. Included with the footage was a high-fidelity, extremely detailed, LAX airport. Imaginesim attempted to reach out to the developers to get information and a concrete answer on LAX and never received a response. Due to the enormous amounts of work and the massive costs of designing an airport as large as LAX, the team has decided to postpone all work on LAX until a more certain future is known.
The team at Imaginesim have shifted their attention to another massive US airport with worldwide appeal. Once Imaginesim comes to what they call a “commit point”, the team will announce the airport they are currently working on. The plan of action for the team is to now focus all of their attention on this unnamed airport then possibly shift back to LAX if it is deemed to be sustainable in both P3D and MSFS2020.
Imaginesim cannot stress enough that LAX is not cancelled, just postponed. That was all the information released by Imaginesim, stay tuned to FSElite for more information as soon as it’s released.
