iFly has released an experimental update making its 737 MAX 8 addon compatible with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, while noting that unresolved issues in the simulator may still affect its functionality. This update is free for existing iFly 737 MAX 8 customers.
Known problems include missing airport maps and broken RAAS features. iFly says further improvements will depend on Asobo fulfilling its promise of full backwards compatibility. Despite these limitations, the aircraft can now be installed in MSFS 2024 using the latest version of the iFly Manager. Users are strongly warned not to modify any files within the aircraft’s installation folder. Even minor changes can cause the addon to break due to how MSFS 2024 enforces file integrity. This includes any third-party tools or addons that modify configuration files.

To install the latest experimental update, iFly states that users must first ensure that any previous attempts to load the MSFS 2020 version into MSFS 2024 are fully removed (Installation in Community folder & Work folder). Installation must be done through the iFly Manager version 1.0.4.0 or later, with MSFS 2024 selected.
More information regarding the installation of the experimental update can be found in the official Flight1 Software Discord server in the #announcements channel.
