Later today, PMDG is planning on releasing the 777F for Microsoft Flight Simulator [2020]. That is, of course, all goes according to plan, but so far, the release seems to be going ahead as scheduled. In the mean time, we thought it would be useful for the community to be aware of a handful of tools and services that may be useful for cargo ops.
Contrail’s 777 Freighter Map
A new map page over at Contrail highlights a number of routes you could potentially fly with your new cargo aircraft. The map focuses on products available from their store but also highlights other locations thanks to FS Addon Compare.
So if you’re looking for a very visual way to locate a new route, then this could be really ideal for you.
Check out the 777 Freighter Map here.
iFlySimX Schedules
We featured iFlySimX Schedules back in October and since then, it has come an awful long way. You can now request to be on standby (said no one ever, by the way!), find specific routes, and a whole bunch of new airlines have been added.
But more related to the topic at hand, iFlySimX has now added a cargo tab for cargo-specific ops.
You could use this in conjunction with Contrail’s globe to find a great route and then a set of nice airports to accompany your virtual cargo flight.
Check out iFlySimX Schedules here (p.s. We were told they are looking for developers to help them build on the tool so reach out to them if you’re interested).
Look Up Schedules on PassRider.com
Those in the trade may already know about PassRider.com as a tool to find ways to jump seat within the airline industry. Whilst it usually us for passenger flights, there is a page dedicated to cargo ops. Inside that page is a link to a large number of real-world operators’ schedules.
From there, you can head to those websites and look-up real-world routes. Again, all with the inspiration to help you find a cool cargo route to take on.
Check out the page on Passrider.com here.
PMDG 777F Custom Camera Presets
Creator StephenEllis has created a new set of camera presets for your PMDG 777F already over on FlightSim.to. These presets include wing views, improved cockpit views, and more. It just adds a few more places to grab eye-candy shots as you explore the world.
