Got Friends has released the AS 33 Me, a self-launching glider for Microsoft Flight Simulator. Based on the Alexander Schleicher AS 33 Me, the add-on features both 15-metre and 18-metre wingspan configurations, designed to suit cross-country and competition gliding.
The glider includes a retractable electric motor, enabling self-launch capability and in-flight power management. Additional systems include ballast control, bug wipers, canopy jettison, and nose weight adjustment. These features are intended to replicate operational procedures used in real-world soaring.
A custom implementation of the LX Navigation avionics suite is also included, offering FLARM traffic integration, flight planning tools, and multi-map display support. The flight model is built around soaring-specific dynamics, with drag effects influenced by surface conditions such as rain and contamination.
You can buy it directly from the Got Friends store for $19.99 or via Contrail. A free upgrade to MSFS 2024 is due to come mid-July.
