Gaya Simulations has announced Santa Barbara Airport (KSBA) for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.
The developer says its latest project will focus on the California experience, combining the Pacific coastline, nearby mountains and scenic approaches with a mix of airline, business jet and general aviation traffic. Gaya also highlights the surrounding TIN coverage as part of the scenery’s environment.
In its announcement, the team describes Santa Barbara as an airport compact enough to give individual areas close attention, whilst offering enough variety in operations to encourage repeat visits. That mix should provide options for simmers looking for both commercial services and shorter general aviation flights along the California coast.
Alongside the reveal, Gaya shared an update on how it is handling airport development. The studio now has multiple airport teams working in parallel, with one focused on smaller and medium-sized airports such as Santa Barbara.
Another team is dedicated to major international hubs, including Vienna Airport (LOWW). Madrid-Barajas Airport (LEMD) is also progressing as part of the developer’s larger-airport pipeline.
