Back in October, we reported that Honeycomb Aeronautical is worked on a range of new controllers that will further enhance your flight simulation experience. They include a brand new flight stick and throttle, a closer look at the Charlie Rudder pedals and also a revamped version of the Alpha Flight controls which will include Xbox Series X|S support.
In the most recent Partnership Video with Honeycomb Aeronautical, a series of new images were shown off for the new products. They are a lot less dark compared to what we saw before and actually give us a much better look at what is to come from the Tango Foxtrot Flight Stick and Throttle.
As previously announced, this dual controller will feature programmable buttons, toggles, switches and rotary switches for maximum customisation for customers. The stick and throttle sections will be completely detachable and can be swapped depending on which dominant hand you have. The throttle unit features twin throttle levers with thrust reverser and can be configured for both GA and commercial airliners depending on which aircraft you are flying.
The throttle features a TOGA switch, A/T disconnect buttons, speedbrakes and flap levers which also include the “pull to unlock” function found in certain aircraft. Furthermore, the throttle features rudder trim, autobrake, parking brake and also a fire suppression system for both the APU and engines. The planned release date for the Tango Foxtrot controller will be in the second or third quarter of 2021 and will retail for $249.99. It will be compatible with box PC and Xbox Series X|S.
The Foxtrot Flight Stick will also be made available as a standalone product.
Based in San Diego, within Montgomery-Gibbs Executive Airport (KMYF), Honeycomb Aeronautical was founded in 2017 to provide high-quality flight sim equipment at an affordable price. The Alpha Flight controls were released in 2019, and the Bravo Throttle Quadrant now being delivered, the team are continuing to bring modular hardware to the masses to enhance their simulation experience.
The Charlie Rudder Pedals are due to release mid-2021 and feature a horizontal pedal movement similar to commercial pedals and driven by a heavy-duty belt to replicate the pulley system found in GA planes. The pedals are made out of aluminium and slide on steel rails whilst the toe brakes are equipped with load cells to provide an authentic brake force. Honeycomb Aeronautical will support multiple-sized carpet spikes and inserts for optional weight to prevent slippage. Upon release, the Charlie Rudder Pedals will cost $249.99 USD. with the optional weight units retailing for $39.99.
