FSimStudios has released its latest airport scenery for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, bringing Ilulissat Airport (BGJN) in Greenland to the simulator.
FSimStudios has recreated both the existing airport and the new international airport, which is scheduled to open in October 2026. The new airport features a 2,200-metre (7,217-foot) runway, new taxiways and aprons, and a modern terminal designed to support larger aircraft and international services in a bid to boost tourism to the region.
FSimStudios has fully modelled the terminal, control tower, hangars and other airport facilities. The surrounding area features custom terrain and landmarks including Hotel Arctic, the Ilulissat Cultural Centre and the Icefjord Centre.
The scenery was developed using real-world photography, surveying and reference material, with optimisation also being a focus. The airport is represented based on its real-world state as of September 1, 2026.
