To open the FSExpo in Las Vegas, one of the highlights of the weekend is the announcement stage on the Friday. This year, given the rocky road to the show, Evan Reiter of Flight Simulation Association, the hosts of FSExpo, was not the first person on the stage. We were however, hosted by Mustafa and we were visited by a lost baseball player looking for the brand new home of the baseball team the Oakland Athletics, which is to be built on the site of the previous Las Vegas location of FSExpo that was not to be, the Tropicana Hotel.

We were then treated to a fantastic specticle in the form of a formation flight from various aircraft types through Las Vegas, to the show, from the Flight Simulation Thunderbirds made up of some well known members of the flight simulation community.
Evan then joined the stage in his usual guise to walk through the weekend, thank the multitude of sponsors and reiterated the meaning and magic behind the FSExpo weekend. Evan also encouraged those that couldn’t make it to the show, to get involved through the live stream throughout the entire weekend to ensure you don’t miss anything.
Evan also spoke about the many stages that are around the even throughout the weekend that are showcasing new announcements and updates from your favourite developers including the FSElite Stage within the main conference centre.

Prior to the show, FSA sent out a survey to capture some details about those coming to the show. Interestingly, the community of those attending have over 17,600 years worth of flight simulation experience but even more surprisingly, 24% of those visiting over the weekend are new to the flight simulation community which shows just how much scope there is for growth in the space.

Closing the opening, Evan promised and teased that we will be learning the location and dates of the FSExpo 2025 show by the end of the day, so be sure to check the FSElite Hub or the FSExpo Stream to learn of all the announcements made throughout the day and the weekend in Las Vegas.
